Life proved dangerous and hard for millions of Guatemalans in 2015. More than half of Guatemala’s population lives below the poverty line, and half of its children are malnourished, one of the highest rates in the world. Since Guatemala’s recent civil war, many children were left orphaned, without homes and without loved ones. Consequently, many Guatemalan children are some of the highest malnourished children in Latin America. Access to education is also minimal, and as a result, the challenges that orphaned and vulnerable children in Guatemala face as they get older can be overwhelming. The people of Guatemala need education while being shown love and the provision of God.
